AUGUSTA, GA. - It’s time for Masters, and First Friday is getting downtown into the swing.
First Friday visitors can win one of four large gift baskets and other fun prizes by taking part in Play Through Downtown, a golf-themed First Friday event.
The Play Through Downtown contest is part of a double First Friday event — a front nine on April 4 and a back nine on April 11. It’s put on in conjunction with the Greater Augusta Arts Council by the downtown business group, DA Squared.
Players can pick up a scorecard at any of the participating merchants,or at the Headquarters tent at 10th and Broad streets. Players go to each of the 18 participating merchants.
Each of the merchants will have a special challenge for players. For instance, at Nacho Mama’s, contestants are asked to tell the staff, “We roll ‘em fat!” All who complete the 18 holes will become eligible for the prize drawing.
At 2 p.m. Sunday, April 13, at New Moon Cafe, the Greater Augusta Arts Council will announce the winners. Winners must be present to win (and don’t worry, the Masters Tournament will be playing on the big-screen TV).
