“Bombs Away, Baby!”

The sun is out, the grass is green, and the grill is spitting grease. You look through half-opened eyes from your weather-worn-cushioned, cast iron chair placed under the tattered awning on the splintered deck, too relaxed to jump around in the sprinkler, or straight down the homemade water slide, or into the community pool, but too aware of the chattering and laughter going on around to take a nap. That paper you have over Orwell's Animal Farm is the last thing on your mind as every one of your senses are bathed in some sort of peaceful, almost too delicate wash. No conversation stands out and all the faces are only blurs of familiar smiles and sparkling eyes.

These are the hazy memories (even though they aren't really your memories at all) that dance through your mind as you listen to “Bombs Away, Baby!”

Chris Konstantinos's punky, raspy voice, Dave Cykert's grungy power chords, Sarah McCallas peppy bass and poppy backup vocals, and Austin Tevis's dance driven drum beats bring together a uniquely optimistic yet all too familiar alternative grunge/pop rock music that any child of the ’80s and ’90s can't help but tap his or her foot to while drifting down some (one else's, perhaps?) memory lane.

“So Long, Sweet Dreams,” the third track on the album, sets the tone for the entire CD perfectly with lyrics about lost relationships, claiming “Come on, the blink of an eye, you know we'll be gone.” Every track feeling like a fond memory that exists between blinks of half-opened eyes.
