Weekend Activities

What’s Love Got to do with it? What to do when you’re not at Arts in the Heart

By Laura Perry

Augusta’s Leonard “Porkchop” Zimmerman tells his own kind of love stories through his mixed media art exhibit, which opens this weekend at Gertrude Herbert’s Creel-Harison Community Art Gallery. “I had a lot of fun with this—one of the pieces is actually made out of a skirt,” says Porkchop. “All of the pieces have to do with the first and last of a relationship.” Using a variety of mediums in a single piece, mixed media visual art is likely just as much fun to make as it is to see. You love it already!
